Microsoft Information Protection SDK

  1. Add .NET wrappers for Microsoft.InformationProtection.Policy and Microsoft.InformationProtection.Protect

    Currently these packages only support C++ is it possible to add support for .NET? (Microsoft.InformationProtection.File currently does support this)

  2. Make content markings programmatically enforced instead of objects in content

    Currently the intended way for protection is to perform that the visual marking is set before the file has been protected and then the label and protection is applied to the file (See: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/57589567/get-the-visual-marking-such-as-header-of-footer-information-for-the-azure-info).
    With this way of working, there are two drawbacks:
    1.) For the case that the MIP SDK is used for protection of common file types (.pdf, .docx,…) the visual marking is not done by that SDK. The SDK or the software code, which is used for protection, would have to support all that file types for visual marking. For .pfile types the task of visual…
