Implement the collection of statistics (number of labels assigned, specific user tracking, tracking by associated groups, etc.) and the ability to generate reports, handle incidents (revocations, unauthorized access, etc.), and analysis.

We are evaluating this request and need more input into how this feature should behave to meet your needs.
We will have automatic classification of inbound emails at the transport level, but this request calls for manual classification on the endpoint. A few clarifying questions:
    1) What is the use case for classifying a received email? Who would use that classification and how?
    2) Would protection need to be applied on the classified email (even when it’s not being replied)?
    3) A user should not be able to change the classification of emails in other people’s mailbox, so as the request is defined classification would be only on the local mailbox of the recipient doing it. What happens if someone else replies to the same thread, which they didn’t classify, so the replies are no longer classified. Would that be a problem?

If a user sends an email to someone who replies or forwards the email from a system without AIP installed, the email no longer has the label that was originally select for the email. (Label returns as "Not set".) It would be great to automatically apply labels to incoming emails to ensure their protection and appropriate handling.

Several users have told us that they don't know why they have to add a label to an Office document that they have not and don't want to save. This seems to happen because the Automatic Save for Recovery feature in Office apps is saving the open files (typically after 10 minutes), so AIP considers the document "saved" and in need of classification.

We can educate our users about this behavior. But is there a way to simply prevent this from happening?

Add an option in Outlook to sort email by label(s).

Definitely necessary for meeting invitations, which can serve as official records in some cases. They certainly establish a historical event record which can be shared and accessed.

The ability to apply multiple labels is essential. There are sets of security controls associated with different labels (which essentially reflect properties of each unit of information). We have different controls for personal data (privacy), U.S. Government information (ITAR, CDI), and proprietary/sensitive business information. Any given unit of information (email, document, etc.) could have any or all of these different properties - and therefore need some or all of the various controls.
